SWBC Shared Purpose
Pray for church planters and church plants
Father,
We pray that those serving you by planting churches will be kept fresh and renewed in the riches of your grace.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray for the gospel to be powerfully at work in them and through them as they serve as ambassadors of your Son.
We pray specifically for James, Joseph, Mason, Travis, and Venu as they prepare to plant churches in the greater Austin area; please give them an awareness of your presence with them and of your goodness to them as they act as your witnesses.
Give them joy, wisdom, and endurance in the midst of challenges and spiritual attacks they face.
Help them to trust you, and guard their families to serve you together in unity.
Amen.
2 Corinthians 1:8-11: For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.
Luke 18:26-30: And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him, “Then who can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” Peter began to say to him, “See, we have left everything and followed you.” Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.

In what ways am I reading Scripture and allowing it to shape my prayers?
