Sunday Morning
May 21

Welcome to the first day of the Summer of Prayer!
The key to prayer is to pray! This morning, you will see a section called "SWBC Shared Purpose." Prayer is better together! Each day, each person at SWBC will be praying for something together. Today is for JOY in our service and worship. Yes! You can pray for joy. Join the rest of your church family praying for joy today! The verses below are to help you think through what we are praying for. Come back tomorrow morning for the next Common Purpose.

SWBC Shared Purpose

Pray that our church will worship and serve Jesus with joy.

Father,
Help our church to see the many reasons you have given us to rejoice.
May your Holy Spirit fill our hearts with awe at your glory and with praise to Jesus as we serve His Bride and celebrate the good news that we are loved by you and adopted as your children.
Help us to serve and celebrate you as a church family in ways that strengthen one another through our shared rejoicing.
May this church family worship you Lord
within every aspect of our lives;
not just our voices,
but also our time, talents, and treasures.
Amen.
1 Peter 1:8: Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.
Romans 12:1: I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Do I tend to see prayer as an obligation or an opportunity, and why?
